The only thing we looked forward to, was love…
A time when cell phones wasn’t heard
No annoying text messages changing verbs,
The thought of social media would have been absurd…
The eyes of judgment was undisturbed…
Music was the healer of love,
Indulged in long walks along the beach,
Conversations that lasted until we fell asleep…
When love wasn’t complicated,
Hearts simply led the way…
Back when the television watched our reality
As we kissed, and made out effortlessly…
I want that old school love,
That kind sent from above…
When friendships wasn’t competition,
When laughter chalked hopscotch
Double Dutch songs singing…
I want a love that’s simple,
When we look into each other’s eyes
We smile in happy cries,
When I say take me back to love
